Welcome to your Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary.

This sanctuary is named after the iconic humpback whales that migrate to Hawaiian waters to calve and breed during the winter. You can find many different marine species along the sanctuary’s diverse coral reefs. 

This sanctuary is named after the koholā, the humpback whales, that migrate to Hawaiian waters to calve and breed during the winter.
