University system tells students they will remain open

The University System of Georgia plans to keep its 26 institutions open, according to an email that faculty and students received at Georgia Southern University.

“Therefore, all 26 USG institutions will remain open for face-to-face education at this time,” the email says.

The emails also says the Georgia Department of Public Health advises the University System of Georgia that the risk of contracting coronavirus in Georgia “remains low.”

The email later says that the numbers of confirmed cases in Georgia “are likely to change.”
